Examples of MIDORI Green Advance

How does a gel look like?

One of the most popular questions receive in our support email address is “We know your dye is safe but: How is the Performance auf Midori Green Advance with my Transilluminator?”

On our website you can find different examples of gel stained with midori green advance. Here we have examples with the three most popular choices in molecular biology labs. The first gel shows a UV transilluminator with the common wavelength of 302 nanometers.  The second gel what’s excited using a transilluminator with the so called long UV wavelength (365 nm)and last but not least there is an example using our unique LED technology the blue green LED technology

Normal UV-Transilluminator

The next image shows a gel that was stained with MIDORI Green Advance. the stained gel is excited using our UV transilluminator. please click here if you would like to have more information about this UV transilluminator.

MIDORI Green Advance was developed for UV transilluminators. As you can see from the image, you get a great signal without strong background. For more information or to order a sample see below!

Long wavelength UV transilluminator

Due to the risk associated with short wavelength light, many companies have come up with a so called long wavelength UV transilluminator. These transilluminators have wavelengths that are longer than 350 nanometers. Still The DNA is able to interact with that energy. so although going into the right direction it is not enough to use such a transilluminator to prevent damage to the DNA.

Again, you can see that Midori green advance is able to deliver superb signal  background ratio.  For more information or to order a sample see below!

Blue-green LED transilluminator

To prevent any kind of damage to the user or to the sample, one must use visible light. Using a single colour (blue LED) leads however to a much lower signal. The best light source for that is our blue green lead transilluminator.

Summary

MIDORIGreen Advance is a safe alternative to the traditional nucleic acid stain ethidium bromide (download the safety report here). It is a non-carcinogenic and less mutagenic dye for detecting dsDNA, ssDNA and RNA in agarose gels with a very high sensitivity. Here we showed that MIDORIGreen Advance performs with UV light or with our innovative Blue/Green LED technology.
