Details

The FastGene® Agarose was developed for a rapid separation of DNA fragments, such as PCR products and plasmid DNA, as well as RNA fragments. The very high quality was graded as suitable for molecular biology. The purity of the agarose leads to an excellent transparency and a low background. This is especially important to obtain sharp and well defined DNA and/or RNA bands with the highest sensitivity in the low molecular weight range.
The high gel strength allows to use concentrations from 0,75 % – 2 %. The lack of DNases and RNases is assayed as well as the background fluorescence with Ethidium Bromide is determined.

FastGene® Agarose for DNA/RNA Elektrophoresis

The FastGene® Agarose is suited for a rapid separation of DNA and RNA fragments as well as PCR products and plasmid DNA. This molecular biology grade agarose is easy to dissolve and enables a rapid gelling. The purity of the agarose leads to an excellent transparency and a low background.

This results in sharp and well defined DNA and/or RNA bands.

The high gel strength allows to use concentrations from 0,75 – 2%. Blotting experiments will run perfectly and separation efficiency from 250 bp to 23 kb is guaranteed. Every batch of this agarose is tested with different sized DNA fragments and the background fluorescence with Ethidium Bromide is determined. The presence of DNAses and RNases is assayed as well.

High quality can make the difference

The detection of small bands is only possible with high quality agarose. Two gels were prepared using the FastGene® Agarose and a low quality from competitor C. The ladder was stained with Midori Green Direct.

Fig. 2: Detection of small bands using high quality FastGene® Agarose and Competitor C‘s Agarose. All seven bands from the ladder are visible when using FastGene® Agarose. When compraing the green box to the red box, Competitor C‘s agarse does not show the lowest three bands.

FAQ

How is the EEO level of the agarose?

The EEO level is 0,14-0,16.

Is the Agarose functional for PFGE?

It is said that you need a low EEO for PFGE. Some scientist use Agarose with EEO < 0,06 or EEO 0,05 to 0,13. So our Agarose can work but we have no specific data.
