The FastGene® NanoSpec Photometer is a compact **microvolume UV-Vis spectrophotometer** characterised by highest **user-friendliness**.
It enables fast and easy quantification and analysis of nucleic acids and proteins by UV-Vis absorption spectrophotometry.
Integrating a **microvolume sample measuring mode** and a **cuvette measuring mode,** the measurement of a wide concentration range is enabled.
You can easily set over 20 measuring modes.

The FastGene® NanoSpec measures the absorption spectrum UV-VIS (190 nm–850 nm) in seconds using by array type spectrophotometer technology with Xenon lamp and CMOS sensor (2048 pixels).

The designated factor of each of the 20 pre-configurated measurement modes is set as the default value, so that no adjustment is needed.

##### Does the photometer show a warning on the display if the measured sample has an extreme concentration that is above the limit value?

There is no warning regarding the maximum value, but the system displays the maximum saturated value.

##### What about the solvent compatibility of the NanoSpec photometer? Will chlorophyll extracts in acetone and chloroform damage the sample compartment when using the base?

Organic solvents such as acetone and chloroform are highly volatile and cannot be loaded on the pedestal, so experiments cannot be performed using the pedestal. In addition, if the solvent falls on or gets onto the black rubber around the pedestal, it may damage the rubber. The solvent that can be used with the pedestal is an aqueous solution. Organic solvents are difficult to use. It is recommend to use the cuvette mode for measuring these samples.

    Wir nutzen seit 2 Jahren das FastGene® NanoSpec Photometer in der Ausbildung biotechnologischer Assistent\*innen. Die einfache Bedienung, die handliche Bauweise und zuverlässige Messung überzeugt nicht nur uns Lehrkräfte sondern auch unsere Schüler. Auch der Wechsel der Räumlichkeiten ist durch die leichte Bauweise kein Problem. Wir nutzen das Photometer hauptsächlich zu Quantifizierung von DNA (Mikrovolumen) und Proteinen (Küvetten – Bradford-Assay und A280). Die Messungen sind zuverlässig und gut reproduzierbar – auch von ungeübteren Nutzen.

    We have been using the FastGene® NanoSpec photometer for two years in the training of biotechnology assistants. The ease of use, handy design and reliable measurements have not only convinced us as teachers, but also our students. The easy-to-carry design also makes it easy to move the photometer from room to room. We use the photometer mainly to quantify DNA (microvolumes) and proteins (cuvettes – Bradford assay and A280).
